FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE
Hello everyone. So far this winter we have been pretty lucky dodging severe weather. We are not quite out of the woods yet, so I would like to remind everybody about our Ordinance which prohibits parking in the street during winter storms. If a storm is in the forecast, and there is a chance that snow will be falling during the night while you are sleeping, please plan ahead and have your cars off the street. This will help the Public Works get your street cleared that much quicker. In some cases on the more narrow streets when cars park across from each other it makes it nearly impossible to get a plow between the vehicles. So to avoid having the Police come and wake you up at three o’clock in the morning to move your car, please have it off the street the night before. I would also like to remind everyone to try and avoid warming up your car while you are inside your house. This is an open invitation to car thieves. We have had numerous cars stolen over the years by this act alone.
